Cascades on Lowes Island was a Tom Fazio
designed golf course built on an island along the Potomac river.
-
Earthforce had many
obstacles to overcome including extreme erosion control measures, the crossing
of a
Washington D.C. sewer line, and working around an AT&T phone line to
the White House that was monitored daily by helicopter.
-
Built a special
46" concrete pipe flood gate with one way control.
-
Built around
42 archaeological dig sites of old Indian burial grounds.
-
Consisted
of the moving of over 900,000 cy of earth
-
Project was an unusual and daunting
project finished on time and within budget.
