Cascades At Lowes Island
Sterling, Virginia


  • Cascades on Lowes Island was a Tom Fazio designed golf course built on an island along the Potomac river.  

  • Earthforce had many obstacles to overcome including extreme erosion control measures, the crossing of a Washington D.C. sewer line, and working around an AT&T phone line to the White House that was monitored daily by helicopter. 

  •  Built a special 46" concrete pipe flood gate with one way control.

  • Built around 42 archaeological dig sites of old Indian burial grounds.  

  • Consisted of the moving of over 900,000 cy of earth

  • Project was an unusual and daunting project finished on time and within budget.
